Engeyum Eppodhum

OMG!!! What a shock this movie gave me!!! The impact was such that after the film was over and when we were having dinner, I was asking Guru, "Rendu bus um epdi ore side la vandhuchu??" and he was telling, "Accident panama irundhirukka mudium".. :)

The director, Saravanan has depicted 4 different characters, without a bit of exaggeration. Appreciable fact is, it does not seem too much for a single movie.

Two couple - timid girl & self dependent boy (Ananya and Shravanand), timid boy & self dependent girl (Jai and Anjali).

The thought is "Oh another love story.. " But wait, the director has a shock for you in the very first scene!!!

From there the story goes backwards to the timid girl pair.

The girl, from Trichy, comes to Chennai for the first time to attend an interview in a software company and the hero just helps her as a stranger. The sister who is supposed to receive the heroine goes to Kanchipuram on an emergency. The girl is so shy that she could not go anywhere on her own and decides to go back to Trichy from the bus stand itself, without even attending the interview. Through Ananya's acting we can actually see the world of a timid girl, afraid of and doubting everyone and everything. The dialogue "Chennai laye ennala thaniya engayum poga mudiadhu apram epdi nan Bangalore ellam, adhan andha velaiya venam nu solliten" describes the character clearly.

The hero is already a software professional with a cool attitude. How they get attracted to each other is depicted very beautifully.

So many "girlish" feelings are captured as such in the movie. :)

The scene where Ananya looks at the phone booth (at the Chennai bus stand before boarding the bus to return to Trichy) with a "thavippu" (I thought this Thamizh word here would be more appropriate) in search of the hero, very beautifully captures the "girlish" feeling of hoping without any "logic". :)

Also, the scene having the dialog, "Oruthara pidikiradhukku oru tea kudikira time podhum. Naan avar kooda oru naal fulla irundhiruken". This is the first time it has come out in any movie. Though many of us would have had the same thought, I guess this is the first media "padhivu" of this dialogue. Loved it :)

How this timid girl turns out to gather so much courage to come to Chennai alone and search for him is not described as it should have been. Still, we are able to accept that. :)

Now, the story of timid boy pair.

Jai has brought out the characters of a timid, obidient and a very good boy. He stays at Trichy just because his mom told him to do so.

The dialogues "Badhil illama pona thiruppi anuppuvanga", "Ennai pathi ketaru apram paal vaangi kuduthaaru", "Love panna poi sollalaam nu neenga dhane soneenga" , describe the character. :)

Anjali has played a very independent, self confident girl. Her character shows that a girl's very practical, bold attitude and very good presence of mind. When she tells the doctor that Jai has donated his body parts and when she cries aloud in the end are typical girlish characters. :)

It is a overall good film worth the time... A film not to miss in life.. :)

Bye for now.. :)

Social Net ( work / liv ) ing

Happend to read some articles about Facebook Vs. Google+.

Discussions like which of the two: is user-friendly, has more number of users, has attractive features etc.,

My opinion is that whichever site one used for the first time for social networking continues to be his / her favourite till the end. No matter how many ever such sites come up, first one is the best one for most.

I have heard some of my colleagues say Orkut is much better (!!!!!!) than Facebook and easier to use (!!!!!!!). Atleast, I don't feel Orkut is user friendly. I prefer Facebook. Some others say Google+ is the best.

Reason, the colleague started with Orkut, me with Facebook and others with Google+. So you see, first is the best. :)

If we ask the previous generation they would say "Why a hype about what social networking site you use??!!!!".

It is because, Social networking has become our "Social Living". :) Yes, the truth, that.

Imagine with whatever time we are left out with after office and house routines, the easiest and the most interesting way to connect to friends and family is Orkut / Twitter / FB / Google+.

Most of us share news, photos, videos and much more of our day to day life, memorable and special occasions only over these sites.

Gone are the days when I upload my photos on the net and send the link to friends / family. Now, I just upload them to FB and the whole world knows that I have a new set of photos. :) As simple as that. :)

Talking over the phone is also, atleast to me, an old story. Chat through FB / Google+. There are video conferencing facilities. (Google+ is better in this feature than FB.)

You got a job - Post it.
You are getting married - Create an event.
You have a baby - Announce it.
You are happy / sad - Share it.
Upload photos, videos and stuff wherever applicable. :)

What else we do in life too? For most of us, a social networking site has become our life itself.

Your life, your way... Your wall your way.. (As long as the control is in your hand (literally)) :)

What is in a name

This post contains some "suyapuranam". Hee hee. After all it is my blog. :)

This is about my Username. "Sowmy Haasini".

This was "coined" by me when my parents bought a laptop for me when I was doing ME.

I had to give a name to my laptop. I was thinking and thinking.

Then I got this name "Sowmy".

This was formed by "concatenating" the first three characters of my name wiht the last two characters of my boy friend's (now my sweet hubby) name.

SOWbhagya + gurusaMY = Sowmy.

So, my laptop was named Sowmy'sLap.

My mom and Dad may be furious on this. "I bought the laptop and u give ur boy friend's name to it. :) Sorry mom, sorry dad. :) Hope U both would agree that "It Happens" as Karthick always says. :)

Sometime later I started using FB. I needed a Username for that. I decided to use "Sowmy". But, so sad... It was already taken. :(

I did not like to add any numbers in my Username. So, again thinking started.

That was the time when "Santhosh Subramaniam" film was running Successfully. And my boy friend had (yes had) a Crush towards Genelia!!! (LOL).

Also, he was very impressed and fell in love with the character "Haasini". Yes, he was very much in love with that character that he was telling me that we will name our daughter (we were not even married then) "Haasini".

Its love, man. I accepted. :) Honestly, I love that character too and naming a daughter, Haasini seems very lovely (at least to us). :)

So, it struck in my mind while I was thinking of a Username for FB that I again "concatenate" Sowmy and Haasini.

Concatenation happened again and thus my name on the internet now is "Sowmy Haasini". And people, you know what?? Everyone started calling me "Sowmy". Wow!! I am Lovin it. :)

For all those people who had patience to read my "Suyapuranam" - Thanks a lot. :)

Bye for now people. :)

Introductions

Here I am blogging. Thanks to singer Chinmayi for the inspiration. :)

I have linked Chinmayi's blog here. Hope she does not mind.. :)

I guess this will be a very good alternate whenever I get bored of Facebook and Twitter and of course, my work. :)

I joined my company on a Thursday, 15th. I have also started my blog on a 15th, Thursday. That rings a bell. :)

Oh, I just notice that I have :) ed at the end of each line. That is wat I am - I like to smile - A lots. :)

So this is Sowmy - working for IBM - married to Gurusamy - leading a "2 software engineers get married and the rest is left to their companies" life. :)

I am the kind of a person who doesnt like what I do and want a change. :) Though my "Developer" position was my childhood dream come true. Hahaha that is me.

All said, my husband is on the way back home. Have to rush to make something to eat. "Wife". :)

Bye for now my dear blog (U have become dear to me in a lesser time).
